Startup centres in Lower Saxony

The state of Lower Saxony has been funding regional start-up centres since 2018 to strengthen the start-up scene. Ten startup centres at six locations will be supported until 2025. The Ministry of Economic Affairs will provide 2.31 million euros to continue the funding and contribute up to 50 percent of the total eligible expenditure.

The startup centres offer new companies free premises, professional and individual help and support in the pre-seed and seed phase. They can also provide individual coaching and access to regional and industry-specific networks and companies. Experienced consultants are on hand to help startups develop business models and internationalise. In addition, many projects are offered the prospect of private funding.

The following startup centres are funded:

· Braunschweig: Borek.digital Startup-Zentrum und Startup Akademie W.IN
· Göttingen: SNIC Life Science Inkubator
· Hannover: Hafven Accelerator, Rootcamp, Venture Villa Digital Accelerator
· Lüneburg: Elevator Lüneburg
· Oldenburg: GO! Start-up-Zentrum Oldenburg
· Osnabrück: Startup-Zentrum Seedhouse und Osnabrücker Healthcare Accelerator

According to the Minister of Economic Affairs Olaf Lies, the results of the Startup Monitor show that Lower Saxony is on the right track to becoming a centre for successful startups and innovation in Germany. NBank, the development bank of the state of Lower Saxony, also offers startups venture capital and support for internationalisation through the NSeed programme (STEP USA and SLUSH).
